The Anatolian side is a term used when referring to the territory of Istanbul in the Asian continent. Although it is not known when it was first used, it is claimed that it dates back to 18th century Ottoman Istanbul. Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Maltepe, Kartal, Ümraniye, Beykoz, Sultanbeyli, Şile, Tuzla and Pendik. Sometimes the islands are included.
